Home Blog Be My Eyes to Provide In-App Accessible Shopping for Blind and Low Vision Users with InnoSearch AI
May 15, 2025
San Francisco, CA, 15 May, 2025 – Be My Eyes (bemyeyes.com), the company that connects people who are blind or have low vision with businesses, government organizations and a global network of volunteers through AI and live video, announced today – on Global Accessibility Awareness Day – a strategic alliance with Innosearch.ai, an AI-powered eCommerce portal. The alliance will provide super-accessible online shopping to the users of the Be My Eyes app, without the clutter and noise present on many other websites.
The alliance represents a significant step and new direction for Be My Eyes, as it lays the foundations of the Be My Eyes app and the underlying technology platform becoming the de-facto access-tech of choice for people who are blind or have low vision, wherever they are – at home, at work or at play.
Innosearch.ai is an accessibility platform that simplifies access to digital services—shopping, travel booking, order tracking, and more—built specifically for blind and low vision users. Acting as an accessibility layer between the user and businesses, Innosearch’s mission is to make all tech services easy, seamless, and inclusive.
Accessible Shopping in Be My Eyes with 2% Cashback
This alliance will focus on integrating the Innosearch shopping portal directly into the Be My Eyes app, giving users access to a fully accessible AI-powered interface where they can explore over 500,000 retailers and billions of products. From everyday essentials to tech gear, Be My Eyes users will now be able to shop with ease, book flights from major airlines, and — coming June 2025 — get groceries and food delivered all via Innosearch’s accessible web portal.
Be My Eyes users will also benefit from an exclusive 2% cashback credit into their Innosearch account for use against future purchases made through the Be My Eyes app. The service is currently available in the U.S., Canada, United Kingdom, and Australia, with more regions to follow.
“We are always asking our users for input and advice as to what would make their lives easier from an accessibility point of view. Online shopping has consistently been at the top of that list because so many shopping portals are just not accessible. As a blind shopper myself, I get it, and we decided to do something about it”, said Bryan Bashin, Vice-Chair, Be My Eyes. “It made sense for us to look for an organization that shared our beliefs and mission, was respected by the blind community, and provided an easy to navigate shopping experience that would be a hit with Be My Eyes users. We found that in Innosearch.”
“Innosearch exists to ensure blind and low vision individuals can access the digital world just like everyone else,” said Patrick Long, CEO of Innosearch. “Today, 98% of websites are inaccessible, often prioritizing ‘beautiful’ design over function. This locks out over 300 million blind and low vision people from basic digital services. We’re here to change that. With Innosearch, we’re not trying to retrofit what exists—we’re building digital experiences from the ground up for accessibility.”
“Generative AI has opened a new world of opportunity,” added Bryan Vuong, CTO of Innosearch. “Now, anyone who is blind or low vision can access a virtual assistant that helps with tasks previously requiring expensive in-person help. Our platform lowers that barrier and brings assistance to anyone who needs it.”
“Our technology platform continues to grow rapidly with more than 15,000 people who are blind or have low vision signing up every month, as well as a growing roster of enterprises choosing us for accessible services software, but our mission demands we do more to attack accessibility challenges”, said Mike Buckley, CEO Be My Eyes. “To be the de-facto platform of choice, there is so much more we intend to do, and accessible shopping is a first step. We’re excited about this alliance with Innosearch, and look forward to working together to break down accessibility barriers, wherever they happen to be”.
