Be My Eyes Workplace breaks down barriers to work for millions of blind or low vision people
February 11, 2026
San Francisco, 11th February 2026 – Be My Eyes (bemyeyes.com), the Accessibility Management company for people who are blind or have low vision, announced today Be My Eyes Workplace, a major new product focused on improving accessibility for blind and low vision employees in their work.
Be My Eyes Workplace consists of software tools and services that break down the barriers of inaccessible IT desktops – from documents that are unreadable, to graphics that are illegible, and applications that are unnavigable.
The AI-powered software interprets on-screen content, providing detailed context-aware descriptions of windows, desktop, file, image and even clipboard details. For more hands-on or application-specific assistance, Be My Eyes Workplace can also connect blind users to trusted sighted colleagues (or specially trained outsourced agents) with remote screen sharing and control.
Optional services include outsourced agents-as-a-service for specific or specialist assistance if required, and employee engagement programs through the Be My Eyes Corporate Volunteering products.
Be My Eyes Workplace now unblocks everyday and previously inaccessible work tasks, resulting in increased efficiencies, higher staff impact, greater employee engagement, and deeper workplace culture inclusion.
“The unemployment rate of people who are blind or have low vision is over 70% in Europe and North America, and even higher in other parts of the world. That is simply unacceptable in the age of AI”, said Mike Buckley, CEO of Be My Eyes. “Our company vision is to make the world more accessible for the 340 million people in the world who are blind, and that includes their workplaces. That’s why today, with the launch of Be My Eyes Workplace, we begin our journey to help make that happen.”
Workplace Accessibility Management (WAM) is an integrated market approach, encompassing tools, processes and people, into making the information workplace more accessible for people with disabilities.
Be My Eyes Workplace is a WAM offering that helps make the information workplace more accessible for working adults who are blind or have low vision. That new product focus has two key objectives:
The second of those, engagement, culture and workplace inclusion, results in a workforce skilled in diverse thinking, which can have a truly profound impact. According to research by Accenture, businesses that lead in disability inclusion outperform their peers financially – with increased revenue by 1.6x and net income by 2.6x.
“It is no secret that those of us who are blind do sometimes require additional tools, such as visual assistance, within the workplace. With today’s massive technology advances, not least in AI, those resources are becoming ever more powerful”, said Bryan Bashin, Vice-Chair, Be My Eyes. “That sort of technology can improve measurable ‘hard’ metrics of efficiency and impact, but perhaps more importantly can also drive the much bigger ‘softer’ metrics of engagement, culture and workplace inclusion, particularly in today’s more hybrid environments, which are so often misunderstood and overlooked”.
At RNIB, we believe in the power of technology to assist people with sight loss to be independent, access information and grasp opportunities,” said Mari Jones, Chief Operations Officer at RNIB (Royal National Institute of Blind People). “We welcome the introduction of more accessible technology to support people across all stages of sight conditions, helping to promote independence and make the workplace more equitable.”
Be My Eyes Workplace software consists of three core components that are supported by enterprise-grade security and integrations:
Complementary to other accessibility tools such as text-focused screen readers, and content creation AI agents such as Microsoft’s Copilot, Be My Eyes Workplace provides the foundational layer that delivers a blind or low vision user with the same information that is seen by their sighted colleagues. Understanding what is on the screen, in the clipboard, in a window, or displayed in a file, is the starting point of any desktop based activity, and Be My Eyes Workplace ensures that baseline is clearly provided, either automatically using AI, or more personally using screen calling and sharing with trusted colleagues.
As with all Be My Eyes products, Be My Eyes Workplace has been developed in conjunction with the blind community as well as for the blind community. This first version of the product introduces some initial core functionality that has been most requested by the community and deemed most important. Just as importantly however, it also lays the groundwork for additional functionality, such as third party integrations and APIs in future releases, all based on the Be My Eyes Platform.
At CNIB, we’re deeply aware of how inaccessible workplaces continue to limit opportunities for people who are blind or have low vision,” says David Demers, Managing Director, CNIB Access Labs. “During our early testing of Be My Eyes Workplace, what stood out was how naturally it fits into real work environments and how easily it removes friction from everyday tasks that are often taken for granted. This kind of technology doesn’t just improve productivity, it supports independence, confidence, and meaningful inclusion at work.
Workplace AI: the AI-powered desktop assistant. Employees can access AI-driven visual descriptions and assistance for any on-screen content, documents, and workplace tools without needing to ask a colleague.
For example, by simply pressing a short-cut key-stroke the contents of a specific on-screen window such as a powerpoint slide or graph, can be described in detail to the user. Content can also be copied to a clipboard and by pressing another short-cut sequence, can be described to the employee. The use cases are endless.
Workplace Reader: the AI-powered document and file reader. One of the most frustrating barriers to accessibility in the workplace is reading digital content. The Be My Eyes Workplace Reader allows files of multiple formats (initially including Adobe PDFs), to be easily readable, including image descriptions, graphs and other items not normally accessible. Be My Eyes Workplace Reader represents a new level of accessible document interpretation and description for blind and low vision employees.
Workplace Connect: direct calls with optional screen sharing and remote control. With just a click of a button, users can connect to a trusted colleague (or trusted outsourced support agent) to get instant support, with the option of sharing their screen and providing mouse control, to assist with particularly inaccessible desktop barriers.
Workplace Connect allows a number of Workplace Groups for individual users, each of which can include any number of allocated or trusted colleagues, or even external trained agents who can answer a Workplace Connect call. This feature is particularly relevant when defining different groups of sighted colleagues with different subject matter expertise.
Integration with Smart Glasses: Be My Eyes and Meta have been working together to develop the world’s most accessible smart glasses, which culminated in the launch of Be My Eyes for Meta AI Glasses in 2024. That work has continued and includes Be My Eyes Workplace being fully integrated with Meta AI glasses, allowing employees to initiate connections with trusted colleagues or support services through the glasses.
Single Sign-On (SAML2) & SOC 2
As would be expected for any enterprise-class product, Be My Eyes Workplace streamlines user logins with secure single sign-on (SAML2), reducing friction for users and strengthening security. It is built within the framework of the Be My Eyes platform, and the context of Be My Eyes’ SOC 2 certification.
