Finding and navigating the landscape of Customer Service can be frustrating, and it’s easy to get trapped while trying to search for contact numbers and reach out to a company agent. On top of this, more often than not Customer Experiences (CX) are not designed with accessibility in mind. A recent report by Qualtrics shows how over $3.7 Trillion of 2024 Global Sales are at Risk Due to Bad Customer Experiences. Be My Eyes has decided to change that for people who are blind or have low vision, with a new service available today in our app. We are thrilled to introduce you to Service Directory.

With Service Directory, Be My Eyes’ users can now find and connect with the customer service centers of the world’s leading organizations, with complete ease.  You can use Be My Eyes’ Service Directory to get real time assistance from many companies and organizations like IKEA, PayPal, Nintendo and over 600 more available at launch.

How it works

To begin, simply open the Be My Eyes app and tap on the Service Directory in the tab bar (previously Specialized Help). From here, select a company or organization profile to reach out and get assistance whenever you need it.

Four smartphones showcasing how the new Service Directory works: in the first one, you can find a list of categories. In the second one, a list of companies. The third one showcases Google's profile, available in our Service Directory. Finally, in the last smartophone, you can see the example of a call to one of the companies listed.

This new feature is available worldwide and users will be able to get in contact with all companies and organizations that are available in their location. There are already over 600 companies and organizations available at launch, and we are adding new ones every day. Availability of company and organizations depends on your location. At Be My Eyes, we are committed to expanding our community and supporting more people. If there are companies or organizations that you cannot find and you'd like to see included in the Service Directory, please let us know by using the link in our app or writing to info@bemyeyes.com. We'll do our best to bring them onboard and our plan is to eventually include every major business to consumer companies and all blindness organizations globally.

"Be My Eyes’ Service Directory is more than just a list. Over the coming months it will become an essential resource for accessing customer service and advice for the products and services we use daily,” said Andy Lane, Be My Eyes user. “Whether you prefer interacting with AI support, making a phone call, or engaging in a one-way video, two-way audio call, this feature is designed to meet your needs. It’s set to become a valuable tool for anyone who is blind or have low vision”.

Building on several years of experience enhancing accessibility in CX, Be My Eyes has decided to release a global customer service directory for people who are blind or have low vision. To do this, Be My Eyes has partnered with the World Blind Union, which will join the Service Directory later this year. Be My Eyes has also been working with The National Federation of the Blind, the American Council of the Blind and dozens of other organizations for the blind from all over the world, all of them already available in Be My Eyes’ Service Directory at launch.

If you want to include your company into our Service Directory, you can contact our Solutions Team. Be My Eyes also allows companies to claim their profile and offer enhanced services to blind and low vision consumers utilizing Be My Eyes’ state of the art customer service tools including Be My AI, the groundbreaking AI visual assistance tool, and Service Connect, our award winning one way video customer service product.

We truly hope you enjoy easy access to what we’re sure will become the central hub for blind and low vision users looking for customer service and assistance globally. If you have any questions about this new service, you can reach us at support@bemyeyes.com and don’t forget to follow our most recent updates on LinkedIn, X, Facebook, Instagram, Mastodon and TikTok.
