Starting October 9, 2025, as part of a six-month pilot, Be My Eyes and Tesco are rolling out direct, in-store assistance so blind and partially sighted customers can get quick help with everyday tasks. Directly through the Be My Eyes Service Directory, available in the Be My Eyes app, customers can reach Tesco colleagues who can help identify the right products, confirm sizes and variants, check expiry dates, and find items more easily throughout the store.

Why it matters

For many in our community, grocery shopping can involve guesswork, extra trips, or waiting for assistance. This collaboration is about removing those barriers. By bringing on‑demand support directly into the shopping experience, Tesco supporting its customers using Be My Eyes.

What shoppers can expect

Support is available on demand through the Be My Eyes app, so there’s no need to wait for a colleague on the floor or change how shopping normally happens. The goal is simple: faster, more confident shopping with fewer hurdles along the way.

Through Be My Eyes, blind and partially sighted Tesco customers can get live assistance with:

  • Product identification to confirm the exact item, flavour, or size needed.
  • Quick checks on special offers, promotions, and Clubcard loyalty rewards to ensure the best value at checkout.
  • Using self‑service checkouts and other in‑store touchpoints.

How to get started

  1. Download or open the Be My Eyes app from the App Store and Google Play
  2. Select Service Directory, navigate to food and drinks and choose the Tesco support option when shopping in‑store.
  3. Connect live with a Tesco agent for quick assistance.

That’s it, no additional setup required! Tesco customers can connect to the service on demand, right when they need it, and get real-time guidance from trained Tesco colleagues. Whether it’s checking product details, or exploring offers, this support allows customers to shop independently, efficiently, and with confidence, making everyday errands simpler and more inclusive.
