San Francisco, March 12, 2026<\/strong>\u2014 Be My Eyes, the company behind the world\u2019s largest support platform for blind and low-vision people, today announced at the 41st CSUN Assistive Technology Conference that a major milestone of more than 1 million blind or low-vision users<\/strong> are now connected with a global network of over 10 million volunteers<\/strong> through the Be My Eyes app.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since its launch, Be My Eyes has been instrumental in how blind and low-vision people receive descriptions and assistance in everyday life. With just the tap of a button, users can instantly connect with a sighted volunteer or a specialized customer service agent through live video to get help with tasks such as reading labels, navigating unfamiliar environments, troubleshooting devices, and more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The milestone reflects the extraordinary growth of a community built on a simple but powerful idea: making visual assistance accessible anytime, anywhere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cReaching one million blind and low-vision users and ten million volunteers is far beyond what I imagined when I first had the idea for Be My Eyes,\u201d said Hans J\u00f8rgen Wiberg, Founder of Be My Eyes<\/strong>. \u201cThis community shows the incredible willingness of people around the world to help one another. What began as a simple volunteer-powered video call service has evolved into a broader accessibility platform. Today, Be My Eyes also connects users with companies through its Service Directory<\/strong>, enabling direct access to trained customer support teams at major global brands. In addition, the company has introduced AI-powered tools designed to provide faster, more scalable assistance while maintaining the human connection at the heart of the platform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
