Earlier this month, we announced our Specialized Help partnership with Guide Dogs for the Blind, but they are not the only new organization to join Be My Eyes this month. We\u2019re thrilled to welcome more local blindness organizations<\/a> to the platform with Nota and Synscentralen Vordingborg from Denmark, NAWB from Nepal, and SANCB from South Africa. If you\u2019re a blind or low-vision user in Denmark, Nepal or Africa, we hope that these new partnerships will be useful for you, and that you give them a warm welcome to the Be My Eyes Community.<\/p>\n

Nota<\/a> is a Danish governmental library that produces audio, braille and e-books for people who can\u2019t read print. Members of Nota can find more than 50,000 titles in the library spanding from fiction and non-fiction to cartoons. Blind and low-vision users in Denmark can connect with Nota Monday through Thursday 8am to 3pm and Friday 8am to 12pm CET.<\/p>\n

Synscentralen Vordingborg<\/a> offers guidance for blind and low-vision citizens in five Danish municipalities. Synscentralen can give guidance related to life as a blind individual, assistive technology and education – both for people with a vision impairment and their relatives. Blind and low-vision users in the municipalities that Synscentralen covers can connect with the team through Be My Eyes Monday through Friday 9am to 4pm CET.<\/p>\n

Nepali Association for the Welfare of the Blind<\/a>, also known as NAWB, is a social organization that works for the rehabilitation and empowerment of people with visual impairments in Nepal. NAWB is especially involved in promoting inclusive education, but offers guidance and advice within a broad array of fields. Blind and low-vision users in Nepal can connect with NAWB Monday through Friday 10am to 5pm Nepal time. Users can receive assistance in both Nepalese and English.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The South African National Council for the Blind<\/a>, abbreviated as SANCB, is a non profit and public benefit organisation working to benefit the advocacy and rights of persons with vision impairments not only in the Republic of South Africa, but for many African nations in general. The SANCB offers advice and instruction on educational opportunities as well as information on assistive technology and independent living. Blind and low-vision users across Africa can connect with them in English Monday through Friday, 9am to 3pm Central African Time.\u00a0<\/p>\n

We\u2019re so excited to bring these four organizations to the community and to expand our network of blind associations across the world.
