We Asked Hilton Guests About Be My Eyes. Here’s What They Said

April 15, 2026

A man holding a white cane stands by the window in a hotel room with a neatly made bed, a large window, and modern decor.

Travel is better when you’re in control. You know which channel has the morning news. You can figure out the thermostat without relying on anyone. You move through a hotel stay on your own terms. That’s the experience every guest deserves.

Since October 2024, Hilton has been part of Be My Eyes Service Directory. Open the app, tap Hilton in the directory, and you’re instantly connected to a trained Hilton team member who can see through your phone camera and assist you with whatever you need in your room. All on your schedule, without waiting in a front-desk queue.

What Guests Are Already Doing With It

Be My Eyes users have been putting the service to good use since day one. Here’s a taste of what people are actually using it for:

“I used to have to rely only on the front desk, but sometimes they’re very busy helping other guests. This adds a second layer of help. It feels like having a virtual personal assistant at my fingertips.” — Jose, Be My Eyes Users

“Knowing that Hilton partners with Be My Eyes tells me accessibility is being taken seriously, not as an afterthought, but as part of how they do business.” — Jeremy, Be My Eyes users.

Even the person who started it all has become a regular user. Hans Jørgen Wiberg — the founder of Be My Eyes himself, who also has low-vision — tried the Hilton service in a recent stay during CSUN 2026.

Here’s what he had to say:

“I woke up early, maybe jetlag, or just being 62, I don’t know. I wanted the news. Called Hilton on Be My Eyes, took a few minutes to sort out the TV, and now I’m watching ABC News. This is pretty good!”— Hans Jørgen Wiberg, Founder of Be My Eyes

What Can You Actually Use It For?

Here are some of the most common (and most useful) ways guests are using Be My Eyes during their Hilton experience:

  • Navigating your room on arrival — Get oriented quickly. Ask a Hilton agent to walk you through the layout, locate the switches, safe, or USB ports, and get comfortable faster.
  • Operating the TV — Find your inputs, switch sources, or hunt down the right channel without fumbling through an unfamiliar remote.
  • Reading in-room materials — Menus, compendiums, amenity labels, laundry instructions — anything printed in your room can be read aloud to you in seconds.
  • Adjusting climate controls — Thermostats vary wildly across hotel rooms. Get it set to exactly what you want, first try.
  • Checking accessibility features — Confirm grab bar locations, lighting setups, or furniture arrangements before you need them.
  • Ordering food or services — Navigate the in-room dining menu or figure out how to reach specific hotel services without guessing.
