The initiative will test Be My Eyes Service Stream, enabling blind and low-vision customers to receive live visual assistance from Zain customer service agents without downloading the Be My Eyes app.
Kuwait City & San Francisco — October 19, 2026 — Be My Eyes, the global accessibility platform connecting people who are blind or have low vision with visual assistance, today announced that Zain Kuwait, the country’s leading digital innovator, has become the first company in the MENA region to begin a Proof of Concept (POC) of Be My Eyes Service Stream, a solution that enables customer service agents to provide live visual assistance directly through their existing support calls, without requiring customers to download an app or create an account.
Service Stream transforms a traditional customer support call into a live visual session. When an issue is easier to show than explain, a Zain agent can send the customer a secure link by text or email. The customer simply opens the link in their smartphone’s browser to share a live video stream through their phone’s camera, allowing the agent to see the issue and provide assistance in real time while the conversation continues.
Designed to make customer support more accessible for blind and low-vision customers, Service Stream can help address situations where visual information is essential to resolving an issue, such as identifying device indicators, reading error messages, or navigating product setup. By integrating visual assistance into the support experience customers already use, Service Stream removes the need to access assistance through the Be My Eyes app.
“Our mission at Be My Eyes is to make visual assistance accessible wherever people need it, including when they interact with the businesses and services they rely on every day,” said Mike Buckley, CEO of Be My Eyes. “Through our partnership with Zain Kuwait, we’re expanding access to Be My Eyes assistance beyond our app, making it possible for blind and low-vision customers to receive visual support directly through their existing customer service interactions. We’re proud to work with Zain Kuwait on this initiative, the first of its kind in the MENA region, and to help make customer support more inclusive and accessible.”
Meshal Al-Kandari, Chief Commercial Officer at Zain Kuwait, said: “At Zain, we believe true digital leadership is measured not only by the technologies we introduce, but by how effectively they improve people’s lives. Accessibility is an essential part of this vision, and we are committed to ensuring that innovation removes barriers rather than creates them. As the first company in the region to pilot Be My Eyes Service Stream, we are exploring new ways to make everyday customer interactions simpler, more intuitive, and more inclusive, empowering people who are blind or have low vision to access the support they need with greater ease and independence. This initiative reflects our wider commitment to placing people at the heart of digital transformation, where technology serves everyone, and progress is defined by the opportunities it creates for all.”
The Proof of Concept marks an important step in expanding access to Be My Eyes assistance beyond the app. By integrating Service Stream into its customer support experience, Zain Kuwait is exploring new ways to help blind and low-vision customers access visual assistance through the channels they already use, making support more accessible and convenient when an issue is easier to show than explain.
