Founded in 1837 by brothers-in-law William Procter and James Gamble, Procter and Gamble has become a world leader in the consumer goods industry. With brands such as Tide, Crest, Ariel and Gain, P&G is one of the most recognized and respected companies in the world.

For years, Procter & Gamble has set a new standard of superiority, one where accessibility and inclusion play a leading role. After partnering with Be My Eyes in 2020, Procter and Gamble is now taking accessibility of its products to a whole new level. by joining our corporate volunteer beta test.

Procter & Gamble has been taking a stand for accessibility over the past few years. Now, P&G is taking another step in the creation of a more accessible world by joining the Be My AI beta test.

Be My AI is a digital visual assistant within the Be My Eyes app that can generate the same level of context and understanding as a human volunteer. The difference between Be My AI and other image description services is in the ability to sustain a conversation with the user and answer a wide range of contextual questions.

Be My AI promises to further improve accessibility of a variety of Procter and Gamble products. Let’s take laundry as an example. What do you do if your favorite top has a nasty stain that you can’t locate? Or how do you select the right detergent to do your laundry? Be My Eyes’ Be My AI is not only able to identify a stain or the right product for your clothes, but it can also suggest which one is the best program on your washing machine and share with you all the tips and tricks to remove a stain from your clothes.

“P&G is excited to participate in the Be My Eyes artificial intelligence pilot with Open AI. We’re looking forward to testing the new technology and understanding how it can improve the lives of our blind and low vision consumers.”

Sumaira Latif, Accessibility Leader at Procter & Gamble

This new feature can also assist with a wide variety of Procter and Gamble products that are already available in the Be My Eyes app through our Specialized Help service. The new Be My AI can assist in identifying the best Gillette razor for your skin and suggest a wide variety of shaving advice. It can guide you into picking the right Pantene conditioner for your hair and it can also share with you the most recent tips for maintaining a healthy and shiny skin with the help of Olay night moisturizers. The possibilities are endless.

Procter and Gamble has been a leader in innovation for over 180 years. P&G joining the Be My AI beta test is not only a huge win for accessibility, but also for Be My Eyes blind and low vision users who may not have been using these products to their full potential due to inaccessibility. Be My AI promises to further improve accessibility of Procter and Gamble products and deliver a more inclusive customer experience for people from all over the world living with visual impairment.
